🗞️ Here’s the Tea:
💼 Amazon CEO Andy Jassy came clean about AI’s impact on white-collar jobs. That might be a good thing…
The TL;DR: Amazon CEO Andy Jassy warned employees that AI will likely reduce white-collar jobs, joining other tech CEOs in being upfront about AI’s workforce impact. While some workers feel anxious about relevance and job security, experts suggest embracing AI skills to stay valuable. The takeaway? Adapt or risk being left behind (but human skills still matter).
My POV: TBH, this isn’t just about Amazon…it’s a wake-up call! 📣
Even if CEOs are ditching vague corporate speak for blunt truths, your role is shifting now.
Start prepping teams for reskilling, addressing AI anxiety head-on, and doubling down on the irreplaceable (EQ, critical thinking, creativity, relationship-building, and so on).
The goal is to be the bridge between “OMG, robots are coming” and “Here’s how we thrive.”
Because at the end of the day, being human still matters. Last I checked, ChatGPT can’t handle your CEO’s ego or your team’s existential crises.
🎙️ Mic Drop Moment:
“You’ve got to talk to your audience the way they’ll receive it, not the way you want to tell it.”
On the mic this week: Tara Turk-Haynes has 18+ years of experience in talent acquisition, DEI, and employee engagement, most recently as a VP of DEI. She’s spent her career building inclusive hiring programs and shaping equity-focused cultures. Did I mention she’s also a playwright, screenwriter, and storyteller who knows how to make a point and make it unforgettable? Basically, the perfect guest to talk storytelling!
Pin this:
- Storytelling builds empathy, trust, and belonging in the workplace.
- If you’re not being clear, your employees will fill in the blanks, and not always kindly!
- Vulnerability is far from a weakness. It’s a leadership skill worth improving.
- People Leaders need creativity, curiosity, and accountability if they want to craft meaningful narratives.
My H*ly Sh*t Moment: The story isn’t just what you tell, it’s how people receive it, retell it, and remember it. If you’re not INTENTIONAL, someone else will write the narrative for you!

📊 Data Is My Love Language:
Stat: 68% of workers across generations fear they’ll never save enough to retire
My spiral: I’m not surprised but I’m also deeeeeply worried.
With 80% of workers convinced their generation is worse off than their parents, we have so much room for improvement.

I’ve ranted about this more times than I can count but financially stressed employees are distracted, disengaged and potentially unable to do their best work.
